    Kitchen Remodeler in West Hollywood

Build And Decor Construction remodels kitchens in West Hollywood. I am Sebastian Moreno Rivera, the owner. I walk your kitchen myself, write the scope line by line, pull the permits, and keep you posted along the way, from the first cabinet order to the final walkthrough.

We have renovated condo kitchens in West Hollywood with the association's coordination, and single-family homes on its residential streets. Tell me the building's rules at the walk and they go into the schedule.

    The first walk

The estimate is free and done on site. I measure the room, take photographs, and listen to what you want the finished kitchen to do. A kitchen's investment rests on three things: the cabinets, the layout, and what sits behind the walls. I look at all three before I write a number.

A written scope with every allowance named

The scope goes in writing: cabinet line, door style, slab material, edge profile, appliance package, tile, fixtures, lighting layout, and every allowance named. You approve one written agreement, and its payment stages tie to milestones on site, never to calendar dates. How payment works lays the stages out.

Every selection carries a decision date, so a countertop template never stalls the job. If the scope moves, the change goes in writing and you approve it before work continues. No verbal changes.

    Permits in West Hollywood

West Hollywood is its own city, so its permits do not come from the City of Los Angeles. The City's Building and Safety Division issues the building permit, and the mechanical, electrical and plumbing permits for a kitchen ride on it. The City's own kitchen and bathroom remodel sheet describes an over-the-counter permit when the work stays inside the room and no wall is removed or added, with a scaled floor plan showing the old layout and the new one. Submittals go through the City's online permit portal.

I pull the permits for your kitchen. I prepare the application and the plan set and meet the inspectors. Who pulls the permit and what the inspector checks, for every office in the county, is on the permits and plan check page.

    How long a kitchen takes

Most kitchens run six to ten weeks on site once demolition starts. Cabinet lead time drives the calendar more than construction does. Semi-custom cabinets arrive in weeks and full custom takes months, so I order early and build the schedule backward from the delivery date. Design, selections and permits all happen before day one. Moving the layout, taking out a wall or an electrical panel upgrade that needs utility sign-off adds time. How long each job takes, phase by phase, is its own page.

    Living without the kitchen

The kitchen goes offline once demolition starts. I set up a temporary station elsewhere in the house with your refrigerator, a microwave and a work counter, and run a dust barrier at the opening with floor protection along the whole path. Water and gas shut off only for the hours a trade needs them, and you get a day of notice.

    Updates along the way

You get a photo record every day and a standing end-of-week walkthrough, so you know where the job stands through the whole process. When a wall opens and shows something the walk could not, I photograph it and show you, and the fix is priced as its own line before anyone continues.

"They remodeled my whole kitchen and it looks brand new, absolutely stunning. From the initial consultation to the final walkthrough, everything was professional and on schedule." Justine R., client review. More are on the reviews page.

    Investment

A refresh that keeps the footprint, reuses the existing plumbing and installs semi-custom cabinets with quartz counters sits at the entry tier. Moving the sink, removing a wall, upgrading the panel and specifying custom cabinetry with slab stone and integrated appliances lands in the premium tier. Permits, engineering and any plumbing or wiring brought up to current code carry their own lines, so you can trade one item against another before anything is ordered.

    License and warranty

The license, CSLB #1113888 (Class B General Building and C-33 Painting and Decorating), is held by the corporation, Build And Decor Construction, and I am its qualifying individual on the State record. Every project carries a one-year workmanship warranty. Clients rate our work 5.0 stars on average across 88 client reviews (as of August 2026).
